The Role

We are looking to hire a creative self-starter who loves, lives and breathes entertainment. You are a strong and selfless leader. You have strong opinions and are open to healthy debate. You can run your team and campaigns with autonomy, independently formulate and drive creative and executable ideas, communicate priorities and present clear goals to stakeholders. You have an informed opinion on the entertainment industry and are driven to develop impactful and strategic publicity campaigns. You are inspired by creative single-title and multi-title storytelling, and out-of-the-box PR ideas that spark conversations. You understand people well. You maintain great relationships with internal and external partners. You are resilient and able to operate at a higher level. You are mature, and able to deal with ambiguity. You're scrappy, unafraid to jump in and handle tasks, at all levels. You thrive in an environment devoid of bureaucracy and layers.

To succeed in this role you will need
• 10+ years of publicity or relevant experience working in entertainment
• A strong selfless outlook, proven leadership abilities and an entrepreneurial mindset
• The confidence/skills to foster strong relationships at all levels internally and externally
• A love of trying new things, and a relentless eye for excellence in execution
• Strong people-management skills (coaching, developing diverse talent)
• Proactive willingness to operate from first principles, challenge established wisdom
• In-depth experience in entertainment PR - agency, studio, TV network, filmmaking
• Deep knowledge and an informed point of view on the business of the industry
• Experience managing talent, talent reps, journalists and other media/influencers
• To able to build creative campaigns from start to end, around local and global films
• To know how to pitch a story, secure opportunities, cover sets, organize screenings
• To be able to plan press interactions/junkets and talent tours independently
• Excellent communication skills: a strong writer, and a clear and succinct speaker.
• To manage multiple tasks simultaneously under a deadline
• Operate effectively in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
• Be decisive in making tradeoffs to work smarter versus harder
• Integrity. Judgment. Courage to question actions inconsistent with Netflix's values.
• Develop and foster team growth & development
• Time spent living/working in India is essential. English and Hindi fluency is required

Responsibilities include
• Build and execute strategies for scaled multidisciplinary/multi-phase campaigns
• Set and maintain a high bar of excellence for the Publicity team
• Make sound judgment calls despite ambiguity, across a wide range of issues
• Work proactively and collaboratively with the leadership team across the India office
• Role model inclusion, candor (cultural values). Embody Netflix's valued behaviors.
• Actively develop and foster team growth and development
• Uplevel India's publicity strategy and instill excellence for campaign execution
• Have business acumen to provide strategic input on behalf of PR in functional forums
• Contribute outside your scope in an impactful manner
• Lead PR initiatives and workflow changes that have broader impact
• Managing 10+ campaigns per year, while developing inexperienced team members
• Be a strategic thought partner to XF teams; establish strong relationships and trust
