Netflix's Labor Relations team is responsible for managing the company's relationships with all entertainment industry unions and guilds. They represent Netflix externally in negotiations for various multi-employer agreements with unions like DGA, SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, etc., and provide expert advice internally to the studio on a broad range of labor-related issues involved in production.
Netflix seeks an experienced labor relations executive to help support its domestic and international expansion efforts as a Senior Manager on the team. This position specifically supports labor relations for facility and studio operations.
Responsibilities
• Providing advice in connection with the guild and union above the line and below the line agreements (compensation, pension and health, residuals, credit, working conditions, clip reuse and other issues relating to the applicable collective bargaining agreements)
• Advising internal groups on the terms of the guild and union agreements
• Advising the business and legal affairs teams on the applicable guild and union language for various talent agreements
• Negotiating above-the-line and below-the-line guild and union agreements in both multi-employer and single employer negotiations
• Investigating and resolving labor-related grievances
• Consulting with Production HR in connection with investigations involving union-covered employees
• Training internal teams on guild and union agreements
• Overseeing outside counsel on labor arbitrations or in other legal proceedings
Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have 5+ years of film/TV labor relations experience, including direct experience negotiating guild and union agreements (both US and outside US) and providing in-house support in a production company or major entertainment studio. This person must also have established stellar working relationships with the entertainment industry guilds and unions, and other studio labor executives. Practical knowledge of the evolving made for new media landscapes is preferred. In addition to a focus on labor relations, broader experience in other related areas (e.g., production legal experience and physical production experience) is also welcome and valued.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $180,000 - $690,000.
