Job Description
With over 200 Million subscribers enjoying great content in over 190 countries, it's an exciting time to work at Netflix. Netflix provides content to virtually all countries around the globe and we are excited to bring even more of our Originals programming to our viewers everywhere.

Netflix seeks an experienced, film-focused attorney with excellent deal-making and drafting skills to join our Original Studio Film group. The successful candidate will work with the company's Original Film team to structure, negotiate and draft above the line deals and agreements in connection with the development and production of live action feature films. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing matters that arise throughout the development and production process and will make judgment calls that align with the company's long term objectives. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the film team's evolving strategies and policies and to make decisions that have both business and legal impact.

The successful candidate will have extensive business and legal affairs experience with live action feature films (particularly projects with ''A'' list talent and a high degree of complexity), and will be excited to handle projects from beginning to end. The candidate must be comfortable challenging norms, leaning in, and finding ways to create efficiencies for the high volume Original Film team in order to remain nimble, accomplish Netflix's objectives, and execute Netflix's Original Film strategy. The ideal candidate must be very comfortable mentoring others, counseling and collaborating with internal and external business partners, producers, and production partners, and making practical decisions that have both legal and business impact. Excellent communication and drafting skills are a must.

The ideal candidate will welcome the opportunity to be part of a fast‐paced, entrepreneurial organization and will thrive in an increasingly global environment.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have at least 10+ years of relevant business and legal affairs experience in film working for a production company, studio, or law firm. Confidence and expertise in development and production, including structuring and negotiating rights agreements, above-the-line talent agreements, and production services agreements, along with strong drafting skills are a must.

In addition, successful candidates will also possess the following:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including candor and honesty.
- Collaborative and inclusive approach to work.
- Passion for business and legal affairs and for tackling new and complex legal and business affairs challenges.
- Strong analytical (strategic and creative) capabilities and judgment.
- Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.

- Curiosity and willingness to tackle new and complex deal and legal issues including matters outside area of expertise.
- Passion and commitment to mentoring others.
- Commitment to embrace and advocate for inclusion.
- Passion for film and Netflix's film business and strategy.
- J.D. and membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
