The opportunity

The Consumer Consumer Claims and Law Enforcement Response team manages legal claims, law enforcement requests, and regulatory inquiries for Netflix worldwide. We are a global team of lawyers, analysts, and legal professionals focused on solving legal issues at scale. We seek an execution-oriented program manager with experience in data disclosure workflows to partner with our internal engineering teams to develop technical solutions for our programs. The ideal candidate understands the global framework of data disclosure, retention, surveillance, and moderation laws. They can gather and navigate business and legal requirements and effectively partner with technical teams to identify sources, build solutions, and optimize workflows.

Responsibilities
• Partner with Netflix LERT and Consumer Claims to review workflows and technology requirements and identify gaps and opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Serve as legal lead for the strategic planning and execution framework of a complex portfolio of systems and workflows for data gathering and disclosure.
• Partner with engineering teams to help build and test relevant tools, provide business and legal context, and foster alignment around preferred/recommended solutions.
• Strategize and implement key performance indicators (KPI) and change management plans for the systems used by the team.
• Coordinate with LERT, Consumer Claims, and other partner teams to ensure the successful rollout of new operational processes; this includes partnering with key stakeholders to document, train, and directly manage the rollout and potential challenges that may emerge from it.
• Facilitate tracking and communication on the progress of the projects managed by the Law Enforcement and the Consumer Claims teams with a focus on converging timelines, alignment, and enabling accountability.
• Assist in creating, documenting, and implementing policies and processes that ensure prompt compliance consistent with valid legal demands and company policies.
• Handle data disclosure requests and legal inquiries as needed.

Qualifications
• Previous experience handling law enforcement, privacy, security, or other investigatory legal requests in the tech, media, or games industry as an investigator, paralegal, or legal assistant.
• Experience gathering legal requirements and business insights, partnering with engineering teams to design and build solutions, including the ability to identify gaps in solutions, debate technical approaches, and see various perspectives.
• Pragmatic and detailed. Has a big capacity to both think and 'do.' Flourishes in a 'hands-on' role, adding value at different levels.
• Excellent communication skills (succinct and clear), including an ability to explain complex legal and technical information clearly and effectively to different audiences; (must be able to bridge between the two).
• Ability to maintain a positive and constructive attitude in ambiguous situations and to manage complex issues constructively.

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $80,000 - $325,000
