The Opportunity

Netflix is looking for a experienced PR Manager to be based in our Alphaville office, with strong media relations, a thorough understanding of the culture and idiosyncrasy of Brazil and experience in digital PR. They will be responsible for strategizing and executing innovative title campaigns and managing high caliber talent from Brazilian and global titles. Reporting to our Director of PR in Brazil, you will work very closely with the local Marketing and Content teams, as well as the Panregional (Latin American) PR teams.

The Role
• Responsible for maintaining and growing the relationships with key stakeholders including talent, media and key opinion leaders, among others.
• Shape and manage campaigns for titles from a wide range of genres (series, film, reality, documentaries, etc), as well as corporate/brand narratives, making use of multiple earned media channels, including broadcast, print, online, new media and influencers.
• Serve as the expert on the market, able to convey cultural needs and nuances that impact global campaigns and the work Netflix does with talent, both in front of and behind the camera.
• Conceptualize and actualize creative ideas that will make an imprint on the cultural zeitgeist.
• Act as the point of contact of showrunner/filmmaker, production partners, and talent reps to discuss the PR strategy for the title or campaign.
• Formulate and manage a budget, and give visibility into work successfully.
• The ideal candidate's natural ability as a storyteller allows them to watch any movie or TV show and find an interesting angle, or two, or five. Their experience in PR enables them to take those angles and translate them into cultural moments with tactics that can drive conversation from a 360 degree viewpoint, understanding how media, content creators and influencers interact, amplify and drive social conversation.
• The candidate should be able to make wise decisions, even when faced with ambiguity and think strategically. They don't fall back on PR 101 tactics and are eager to put a new spin on what a campaign can be.

Qualifications

Strong candidates are good cross functional collaborators, clear communicators and can handle a high volume of work and unpredictability. They are curious and ask questions, and also contribute effectively outside of their specialty. Successful candidates will have a candid and direct communication style, they are willing to admit to mistakes quickly and question values inconsistent with our values and Netflix culture. They understand that sometimes the job requires delivering bad news, and they're tactful in handling such issues.

The successful candidate for the role will likely possess 10+ years in studio or agency settings and hold a wide range of relationships in media, influencers and in the industry. Of particular interest are candidates with broad knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, gaming and lifestyle trends in Brazil. Demonstrate the ability to think innovatively-connecting the dots when others cannot. Able to make the leap from information to insight. Able to identify, nurture and help refine compelling creative ideas and concepts. Takes risks and elevates work. Candidate needs to be a great writer and talker, and love building relationships. Can organize, summarize, clarify and communicate ideas simply, succinctly and accurately. Has a quick intelligence, is fast on their feet and quickly responds to issues and questions with a candid approach. The ability to speak/write in Portuguese & English fluently is essential.
