Job Description
Netflix is the fastest growing, most productive and progressive film studio in Hollywood and, Netflix Animation Studios, as one of its major arms, is making a huge impact in the kids and family animation space. Music Creative & Production provides premiere music support to our productions and Netflix cross-functional partners by leveraging relationships and guiding the music creative, scoring, and budgeting process from development to launch. Our goal is to empower Netflix to entertain the world by deepening fan engagement and amplify storytelling through music.

We are seeking a candidate to be an integral partner to our Music Creative & Production (MCP), Cross-Functional, and External Teams, providing support in the areas of:

Creative
• Work with Music Creative, Content, and Finance as early as development phase on preliminary budgets, progressing throughout production
• Create, maintain, track, and provide feedback on music budgets

Production
• Embed and work closely and daily with the Music Production team of 3
• Be the point person / 1st line of defense for all questions related to music budgets, top sheets, and music talent payments
• Track and maintain music budgets across animated series and films
• Request, review, and break down cost reports
• Track and reconcile actuals/hard costs against music budgets to track ETCs and EFCs
• Keep top sheets and music budgets organized
• Facilitate payments for music talent and crew (contractual, production, payroll)
• Handle coding uniformly across all animated films and series, making sure Chart of Accounts are up to date
• Attend Production and Finance meetings; Cost report calls as needed
• Innovate in the areas of creating and/or refining templates, documents, and workflows
• Learn about and leverage pre-existing Netflix financial tools
• Lead on music finance related initiatives

Cross-Functional / External
• Partner, liaise, and communicate with internal teams such as Finance, Accounting, Physical Production, Post Production, Labor, Music Business Affairs and Legal, and Residuals
• Partner, liaise, and communicate with external partners such as music talent reps, line producers, music and vocal contractors, union/guild music departments and reps

Qualifications:
• 8+ Years experience in finance or accounting at an independent, feature film, or television studio
• Experience working in animation, music industry, production, and/or post production
• Knowledge of music publishing, music clearance, record labels, music business affairs & legal a plus
• Knowledge of and passion for music and film and tv
• Familiarity with music unions/guilds (SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, AFM) and helping to get personnel hired and papered
• Comfortability liaising and working with Labor Relations and the Residuals team to get questions answered
• Comfortability being project and talent facing
• Team-player who operates in a fast paced team-oriented setting
• Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
• Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly juggling a large volume of projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task
• A proactive and positive thinker
• Open to suggestions and feedback
• Exercises good judgment and initiative
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Movie Magic Budgeting
• BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
