Studio Production Management, Production Operations & Planning, Full Time

The Opportunity

Netflix Studios is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to support Netflix projects in the UK/EMEA region. This position will report to the Head of Netflix Studio Transportation in Los Angeles and work in conjunction with various cross-functional partners. The Studio Transportation Manager is responsible for oversight of our Production Transportation teams supporting all aspects of production related transportation for our UK series and films. This role will sit in our London Office.

The Role

A successful candidate will be passionate, self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an attention to detail. As the only in-region representative for Netflix Studio Transportation, a successful candidate for this position must have the ability to work independently.

This is a demanding and fast moving position that requires a proactive and positive thinker who is able to exercise good judgment, effective communication, and initiative.

Responsibilities:
• - Production oversight and innovation- :
• Provide insight into UK production workflows and how they impact the transportation department.
• Partner with Production Executives in the supervision and management of Transportation Department
• Oversee and provide support to our production transportation crews in the areas of employee relations, Company policies, and operational alignment.
• Collaborate with and mediate between our internal cross-functional departments (specifically Human Resources, Safety, Risk Management, Finance, Sustainability, and Legal) and external physical production management relating to studio transportation policies, requirements and issues.
• Participate in exploring, testing, and piloting new programs and technologies to see how they will affect our industry in an effort to meet our carbon reduction goals
• Provide recommendations for improvement that may have regional implications to the organization.
• Partner with Assets and Archives to ensure action vehicles are properly registered and tracked.
• Advise internal and external production teams on regulatory issues and collaborate with applicable cross-functional partners to find solutions.
• Maintain a current understanding of the evolving landscape of transportation regulations across multiple geographies and regions.
• - Regional Lead- :
• Acts as Regional Manager of Studio Transportation
• Collaborate with Transportation Manager on building training programs, as needed, and creating infrastructure for UK productions
• Maintain and update transportation manuals and workflow docs.
• Study, understand and apply appropriate global regulations, contracts, and workflows to both inform regional policies and create a knowledge base for efficiencies that can be shared cross-regionally.
• Partner with Safety Team to establish working Protocols for Transportation Crews
• Align with departmental and Company deliverables, strategies and philosophies.
• Develop and curate a catalogue of regional vendors (with a focus on sustainability and underserved business communities). Liaise with these vendors to enhance relationships and formulate mutual goals.
• Process, review and apply data analytics to contribute to strategic decisions and inform and validate operational innovations.
• Establish innovate way to secure, sell, store, and track action vehicles in region

Requirements:
• Physical production experience in UK/EMEA film or television is required.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the Entertainment transportation industry.
• BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience leading and representing a team to internal cross-functional partners, and external production stakeholders in the UK, EMEA - additional regions a plus
• A working knowledge of the types and uses of production transportation equipment.
• The ability to prioritize and respond to urgent issues in a fast paced environment while simultaneously supervising multiple productions.
• An entrepreneurial mindset in resolving business problems, which includes responding to time-sensitive and/or urgent matters after hours.
• Proficient in the application and communication of basic data analysis to identify trends and enhance our understanding of transportation related concerns.
• Willingness to continue learning, be flexible and pivot to drive workflows as the department and business grows
• Team player who operates in a fast-paced team oriented setting
• The ability to manage and secure confidential information, and the discretion to employ appropriate control measures to protect privacy.
• A passion for continued education and innovation in the transportation space including both regulatory and sustainable learnings.
• Travel between studios, productions and storage required
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management background
