The Role

The Manager of Production Finance, Series Prep/Wrap will be instrumental in creating and implementing the production finance goals of the Originals Series team. The goals include i) leading the series prep/wrap production finance and production accounting teams ii) ensuring accurate, timely and complete cost reports iii) protecting company assets through cash management, policies and procedures, best practices iv) providing shows with the production finance support to facilitate producing the very best content.

The Responsibilities
• Clearly define the optimal organizational structure of the prep/wrap team and reporting structure that best supports our shows and our Netflix Production Finance and cross functional teams
• Clearly define the roles and responsibilities of each of the prep/wrap team members
• Build relationship with the Netflix Production Finance team and senior cross functional partners
• Work with the Netflix Production Finance Associates on the show handover, onboarding and offboarding process
• Establish and implement best practices and exceptional high standards of production accounting quality controls within the prep/wrap team to ensure accurate, complete and timely cost reporting, asset management
• Hire and develop freelance production accountants as needed based on the future volume of shows prepping and wrapping
• Lead the annual 1099 process for Owned Original Series working with the Netflix AP and Workday teams
• Address inbound requests from Netflix HR, Labor Relations, Content Accounting, Internal Audit, Insurance, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Tax
• Test various production accounting tools and systems
• Ensure shows are closed out, bank accounts closed and personnel credentials are revoked as needed
• Determine a prep/wrap production accounting charge off model charge
• Identify risks and opportunities within the production accounting workflow
• Keep abreast of current and changing industry trends, evolving technologies, production incentives and labor agreements in the main worldwide production centers

Experience
• Candidates must have 15+ years in scripted production accounting
• Candidates must have 10+ years working as a Lead Production Accountant on local and distant location major studio size productions
• Broad understanding of production incentives
• Solid understanding of payroll process, union labor agreements and tax requirements
• Complete understanding of P2P process and tax requirements
• Expert skill level of Vista or PSL production accounting systems
• College degree in accounting or finance from a four year university is preferred
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team

• Able to identify strengths of team members and delegate effectively
• Ability to understand and articulate issues using creative, production or financial context
