Job Description
We have a stellar slate of new projects coming to Netflix, and we are looking to fill a role on our publicity team for an events director. We are looking for a grown up, someone who enjoys strategizing and implementing events, and understands that as this group falls under the publicity umbrella and that we see events as a beat in our larger overall campaigns. This is a very hands-on role, one that will require you to know the events and festival landscape well. You should know the playbook backwards and forwards, then we will challenge you to throw that playbook out the window, and push to innovate with us. If you live and breathe entertainment and are an adult who has managed large teams and even larger events before, then you are just who we are looking for and we want to talk to you.

The Role

The Manager for Multi-Title Events will play a key role in strategizing, executing and managing brand specific programs and events for the rapidly growing slate of Netflix titles.

The Manager will work alongside the team that is helping to create, shape, execute and manage Netflix brand events and experiences across films, series, and documentaries, meaning that he/she will have to be in sync and show a curiosity about marketing, promotional and publicity efforts and contribute to improve initiatives with new and innovative event ideas. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of producing high impact consumer event experiences and is a seasoned multi-tasker. He/she will drive the development of integrated programs, understanding all aspects of creating disruptive and memorable live events. He/she has a strong understanding of working with promoters and other event organizers to ensure that a fully integrated promotional plan supports the event. He/she has had experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Social Media, Marketing, Media, Consumer Insights and Publicity. Prior experience in generating measurable results that glean strategic insights. Experience engaging with influencers, talent and high profile partners required. Able to communicate with filmmakers, talent representatives, agencies, executives and production partners on efforts as well as lead internal teams to create spectacular events. They can formulate and manage a budget, and give visibility into their process successfully. Pack your bag because both domestic and international travel is a requirement.

She/he is able to make wise decisions, even when faced with ambiguity and thinks strategically. He/she can articulate what they are - and are not - trying to do. He or she is a good listener and a real doer. They are organized, thorough and not afraid to get their hands dirty - and that will mean jumping in to handle tasks that range from hiring an agency to plan an event, to maintaining and updating guest lists, to booking a venue themselves for an event or to working a check-in table if needed. The responsibility is wide-ranging. They collaborate well with partners that range from the publicists overseeing global strategy to content/programming to marketing to social to product and beyond. Strong candidates can handle a vast amount of work and they are eager to learn. They are curious and also contribute effectively outside of their speciality. A good fit in the role has a candid and direct communication style, they are willing to admit to mistakes quickly and questions values inconsistent with our values.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for the Manager of Multi-Title Brand Events will have at least 10+ years of experience organizing, planning, executing and overseeing events with a strong portion of that time working on entertainment events. This position will be part of a newly developed team in creating amazing experiences for fans, influencers, consumers, industry and press.

Experience negotiating and managing sponsorships for major entertainment events, festivals and properties and experience working with major event promoters. He/she should have a great sense of how to build an event experience that brings a unique brand to life and understand creating experiences for fans, and enthusiasts. Experience creating stunts and surprise installations.

Must have a solid understanding of the channels that contribute to creating a truly integrated experience and how they work together to maximize the reach beyond event day. (ie social, paid media, publicity). Must be a team leader and should have directly managed an event team as well as lead other internal stakeholders in managing small to large event programs.
