The Role

Netflix is revolutionizing the entertainment industry with world-class technology. We serve 260+ million members across 190+ countries, delivering great movies & TV shows every month in 30+ languages. The Content & Media ML Foundations team, within Data Science and Engineering, is responsible for foundational R&D initiatives shaping the future of content production and promotion at a global scale. We build and deliver high-leverage foundational ML solutions that support global content production and promotion at scale and extend the impact of mature ML outputs (e.g., content embeddings & member preference prediction models) across Netflix.

We are looking for an experienced ML Scientist to join the team.

Responsibilities
• Own and innovate upon ML models that predict long-term engagement of members & profiles with our content slate and future launching titles, informing and supporting a range of decisions across the content, studio and Ads domains.
• Have end-to-end ownership of ML model development lifecycle, from feature engineering, to model training, evaluation, deployment and continuous monitoring and improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers and data scientists, to define problem statements, define roadmaps and execute on priorities.
• Communicate complex concepts and the results of analyses with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence strategic decisions.
• Embrace and enact Netflix values in daily work and interactions.

About You
• At least four years of applied ML experience with a successful track record of delivering quality results.
• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science or a related technical field with a focus on machine learning, artificial intelligence.
• Solid experience in building and deploying machine learning models to production environments..
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business context and intuition into data-oriented hypotheses to drive impact.
• Strong coding experience in Python, with proficiency in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
• A passion for and appreciation of the creative and entertainment industry is definitely a plus.
