Full-Stack Engineer

Job Description

You'll have a direct impact on how the Netflix studio creates and produces shows, such as ''Wednesday'', ''La Reina Del Sol'' and ''La Gloria'' on a global scale. With an increasing slate of original content being produced every year, our products manage billions of dollars worth of content-spend.

We need your help to build the technologies that allow us to scale our efforts across the globe, and do so effectively and efficiently!

Your Day-to-Day
• Contribute to designing and building all parts of a product stack - backend services, data models, and UI interfaces to operationalize our workflows at scale
• Serve as part of a larger architecture, engineering, development, and testing team, collaborating to build and optimize our applications for load time and performance
• Apply software design principles and best practices to ensure that our services can run at production scale, serving tens of thousands of users
• Collaborate with team members in product management, user experience design, and with end-users to carry features from initial concept to completion
• Maintain feature documentation for code and services, working with Senior Engineers to maintain a shared library of tech and process documentation
• Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight. Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs.
• Switch between back-end and front-end engineering as needed to ship features rapidly

• You prefer working on all aspects of the tech stack - both frontend and backend and thrive on delivering product outcomes
• You are adept at building applications with an Object Oriented backend language and Javascript/Typescript-powered user interfaces. We work with Java and React primarily, so an interest in learning and coding in these languages is desirable.
• Passion for building high-quality, well-performing user experiences
• Prefer to build a product that solves the end-user problem, over just shipping features
• You excel in developing microservice-based distributed systems with high availability, throughput, fault tolerance, and performance.
• You are experienced in utilizing a variety of cloud data stores, ideally including relational stores, queues, and non-relational stores
• You are strongly motivated to pick up new domains and ship high-quality, well-tested code.
