THE OPPORTUNITY

Netflix seeks an intellectually curious attorney to join the business & legal affairs team for Netflix's Original Animation group, with a focus on the development and production of animated series for kids and families. The candidate will be primarily responsible for drafting and negotiating development agreements, rights agreements, talent agreements, and other production agreements primarily for original animated series programming. In addition, as the main legal contact for productions, the candidate will collaborate with and ensure information flow to internal business partners (e.g., creative and production), cross-functional partners (e.g., intellectual property, employment, labor, tax, marketing and consumer products), and other key partners (e.g., finance, contract administration, legal operations). The candidate must be comfortable challenging norms and finding ways to create efficiencies for this high volume team in order to remain nimble, accomplish Netflix's objectives and execute the Original Animation content strategies.

The ideal candidate must be very comfortable counseling and collaborating with internal and external business partners, attorneys, producers, and production partners and making decisions that have both legal and business impact. Excellent drafting and communication skills, as well as a keen eye for detail, are a must. The ideal candidate will welcome the opportunity to be part of a fast‐paced, entrepreneurial organization and thrive working in a global environment. Experience in animation is a plus, but is not required.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have at least four to six years of legal experience working at a major network/studio, production company, or law firm.

In addition, the candidate will possess the following:
• Curiosity and willingness to tackle matters outside their area of expertise
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical (strategic and creative) capabilities and judgment
• Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight time frames in a fast‐paced environment
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross‐functionally, think pragmatically and be solution‐oriented

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must submit a resume and a brief explanation of why they are interested in the role. You are only able to upload one document. Please create one pdf file containing both your brief explanation of interest and your resume.
