Job Description

The Public Policy team at Netflix engages with policymakers, regulators, and government bodies in order to advocate for Netflix's interests in the policymaking process, and acts as a strategic partner to internal business groups as they navigate the policy world. The position would be a shared resource reporting to two teams:

The Content & Studio Affairs team works with government and industry stakeholders worldwide to develop reliable and efficient content and production ecosystems. We facilitate production for titles, advise on content sensitivity issues, and empower viewer choice by aligning values with company growth.

The UCAN Policy team within Public Policy works with federal and local governments, and other policy stakeholders in the US and Canada to shape policy.

As part of this team, the successful candidate will be immersed in the unique content for which Netflix is known and support a wide array of projects affecting all aspects of content creation, production, and delivery. They will implement and strategize ways to boost the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the teams, be responsible for magnifying communications internally, help execute ongoing projects, and act as a point of contact for other internal teams and external stakeholders about the status of projects, progress updates, and team priorities and needs.

We are looking for someone who is focused on developing solutions, able to juggle a high volume of requests and communicate effectively across audiences, thinks creatively, is highly organized, and is eager to learn.

Responsibilities & Expectations
• Data analysis and policy research support for major studio investment opportunities;
• Competitive market analysis;
• Local external government/stakeholder engagement;
• Campaign development;
• Maintenance of databases and trackers;
• Research on content sensitivity and culture;
• Coordination of screenings, delegations, and events;
• Creation of internal communications;
• Assisting with land use issues; and/or
• Responding to government requests for information.

The successful candidate will:
• Be comfortable with research and analysis across heavy-volume areas
• Have a keen eye for detail and design and be able to research and create concise, engaging internal communications/assets
• Have strong project organization, research, and management skills
• Possess excellent written communications
• Have experience in providing market analysis
• Have a strong understanding/interest in global content
• Hold a bachelor's degree
• Be passionate, self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, able to pivot when necessary
• Be thorough and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and excellent follow through
• Be familiar with Google Suite - including Slides, Docs and Sheets
• Be familiar with MS Office and Excel including capability with formulas, pivot tables, and ability to analyze multiple data sources

A plus:
• Postgraduate degree in Public Policy, Law, or Business
• Written and oral fluency in a language other than English
• Have a good knowledge of the media & entertainment sector
• Relevant experience or interest in politics, international relations, law or media production
