Job Description

This role requires a witty, creative and highly organized person to lead the day-to-day platform management for Strong Black Lead social handles. This person should have a passion for Black culture and entertainment, even if the work they're currently doing is focused on targeting the Black audience. It's most important that they can authentically relate to the community they're managing and the content/copy they're producing, because they too understand what it means to be a Black person in the United States. This person is up to date on marketing trends, knows the most impactful influencers in the space, and is driven by growth and engagement of our various platforms. Needs strong editorial judgment, sharp copy-writing skills, deeply values organization, and has the ability to make quick decisions/react to social conversation in a way that elevates the Netflix brand.

Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing the Writer's Room:
• Assignment of short and long-term writing projects
• Oversight of any/all community management contributions made by writers
• Handling of resource asset management (including cuts of relevant titles)
• Acting as the main point of contact for freelance writers

Directing daily editorial execution, which means:
• Staying aligned with SBL managers to ensure relevant content is being produced and delivered in a timely manner
• Ensuring all posts go live across all channels accurately, and at the right date/time
• Maintain the voice of Strong Black Lead throughout all channels,
• Monitoring all SBL social media properties (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
• Creating and executing editorial calendars via AirTable
• Overseeing the production of day-to-day assets, as well have the competency to provide actionable feedback to writers, video editors, and other partners

Handling all community management responsibilities, focusing on:
• Drafting and posting reactive tweets, Instagram and Facebook comments (with increased volume at tentpole moments)
• Proactively commenting on relevant talent/influencer pages in the SBL tone of voice
• Tracking and regramming posts from relevant Netflix talent and fans on Instagram (including drafting copy)
• Flagging any noteworthy (positive or negative) audience content
• Noting platform updates and trends as they happen and make corresponding recommendations for the brand
• Creating weekly reports with data partners that support the trajectory of content and tone

Assisting SBL Managers with larger editorial initiatives as needed, by:
• Supporting post-production of long-form assets
• Helping with relevant talent request documents
• Assisting managers with long-term content planning
