Job Description
Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services with over 260 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

Netflix is revolutionizing the media and entertainment industry. Underpinning this revolution are leading-edge technology efforts in Cloud Infrastructure (running on Amazon Web Services) and Open Connect Content Delivery which are the foundational components that deliver a great Netflix experience to 260M+ members around the globe. As a team, we are responsible for driving efficient utilization and scaling of our cloud infrastructure.

We are looking for an Associate to join our Technology Strategy & Analytics team focusing on driving infrastructure-aware product innovation decision making. You will partner with leaders and senior engineers across our Consumer Engineering organization, which operates hundreds of microservices running on Amazon Web Services that power the ''before you press play'' Netflix experience (think: sign-up, authentication, billing, personalization, search, messaging, etc.).

You will be responsible for understanding our product innovation roadmap (incl. genAI-driven features) and how it will affect our infrastructure cost, and partnering with engineering leaders in an analytical and strategic capacity to develop key metrics and drive overall cloud efficiency.

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, partner-focused, an effective communicator, and relentlessly curious. Ideal candidates have a proven track record of managing cross-functional working groups and hands-on analytics experience. We are a self-service, data-driven organization so previous experience with query languages such as SQL, a scripting language (e.g., Python), or a strong desire to learn these skills is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, possess a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and be results-driven while upholding the highest personal and professional integrity and ethics.

In addition to intellectual curiosity and aptitude, we look for candidates who are excited by technology, either from a professional or personal background. Since we are deeply embedded with our business partners, having the ability to connect specific engineering initiatives to the broader Netflix business impact is critical to success.

This position is expected to operate at a senior level, leading cross-functional projects/teams composed of software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists while collaborating with engineering leadership. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Technology Strategy & Analytics, and is based out of our Los Gatos, CA office.

RESPONSIBILITIES (non-exhaustive)
• Work closely with Engineering and Data Science partners to drive the adoption and continued development of analytical tooling that estimates the infrastructure impact of A/B tests.
• Understand the Netflix consumer product innovation roadmap and how we expect it to impact our cloud infrastructure.
• Extensive analysis of our Cloud infrastructure, focusing on optimization and efficiency opportunities. Based on the findings, propose solutions and project manage cross-functional teams (software engineers, data engineers, analytics/viz engineers, etc.) through implementation.
• Provide strategic, ad-hoc analysis to engineering teams, senior leaders, and the broader finance organization.
• Report and iterate on key operational and financial metrics.
• Partner with our Data Science and Engineering teams to develop tools for cost visibility, deep analytics, and dashboarding.

QUALIFICATIONS
• 4+ years of experience in a highly analytical environment -- worked in a consulting firm, strategy & operations, technical program management, or analytics at a technology company, or similarly demanding functions in which strategic analysis, partner management, and operational optimization is essential.
• Experience working as a business partner with technical engineering teams in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to present to and context switch between peer groups and senior-level management.
• Ability and willingness to quickly learn internal data warehouse tools to independently (self-service) explore and analyze high-volume datasets.
• Working proficiency with SQL or other query languages. Bonus: Familiarity with Python or another scripting language.
• Expert with Excel or Google Sheets.
• Working knowledge of visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).
• Degree in economics, mathematics, engineering/ computer science, or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative competence.
