Job Description
As part of the Content Finance & Strategy organization, the APAC Content Analytics team acts as the connective tissue between our partners across APAC and the global Strategy and Data Science teams. We drive the creation of best-in-class metrics, tools, and insights to optimize content investment decisions, partnering cross-functionally to balance global scale with local needs and export analytical innovations from the region to the world.
The Role
• We are looking for an Associate to join the team in Tokyo or Seoul, reporting to the Senior Manager of APAC Content Analytics.
• Content Analytics represents APAC on a broad range of global analytical workstreams seeking answers to big, open-ended strategic questions:
• How should we evolve our long-term content strategy as we expand into Live programming, Sports, and Podcasts?
• How do we optimally invest our content budget, measure the effectiveness of that investment, plan our slate and effectively launch our titles?
• How can we compare our content's performance to that of competitors?
Responsibilities
• As an associate, this translates into work such as:
• Bridge the gap between global analytical frameworks and local realities. Champion APAC-specific insights (e.g., mobile-first behavior, explosive member growth) to ensure our global models reflect the nuances of the region.
• Shape the design of new content metrics and the evolution of existing ones as Netflix expands its content offering.
• Define and refine global/regional frameworks for use by the Content Finance and Programming Strategy teams in each country.
• Spearhead adoption of automation and self-service analytics tooling in partnership with our Data Science team.
• Pioneer new analytical approaches to understand opportunities and dynamics unique to APAC.
• Own Competitive Intelligence for APAC in collaboration with our country experts, analyzing the impact of local rivals, free streaming, and YouTube/User Generated Content on our growth trajectory.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, strategic analytics or business operations at a high-growth tech company.
• Analytically Creative: You are experienced in working through highly conceptual, ambiguous problems to turn large amounts of data into actionable insights.
• Technical Rigor: Advanced modeling skills in Excel are required. Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), and conceptual fluency in data architecture highly preferred.
• Communication: Able to speak the language of both engineers and senior executives across written and live situations.
• Agility: Comfortable prioritizing on the fly to balance the needs of a large number of parallel projects and stakeholders, and working independently to execute on them.
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
