Responsibilities

The Writer, Creative Content at NBC Entertainment sits on the Creative Content team and supports our marketing initiatives across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will LOVE TV! They will be able to engage new and existing audiences for our current NBC shows and specials through fresh ideas and scripts for original content pieces, clever and strategic key art concepts and taglines, clear and digestible show descriptions, as well as writing witty titles, engaging descriptions, easily searchable metadata, and highly clickable thumbnail copy for digital/social. They will also be dynamic storyteller who can identify key moments from our shows and weave them into narrative-driven videos that capture the attention of our audience.

In this role, you will…
• Join a creative writing team that collaborates and exchanges ideas.
• Be assigned to your own NBC shows and be the point person for all writing needs from pre-premiere to the season finale and beyond.
• Partner closely with multiple teams and departments to maintain a clear, authentic voice across platforms.
• Craft and edit creative copy for video, key art, social channels and more with a clear understanding of how our audiences interact with our content across formats and platforms.
• Immerse yourself in your assigned roster of NBC shows and become an expert in the characters, talent, storylines, popular moments, and more.
• Stay on top of cultural, digital and social trends to identify content and messaging that will appeal to our audiences.
• Navigate quick deadlines and last-minute changes.
• Work with creative directors, producers, editors, and fellow writers to help craft mashups, listicles, and other digital video concepts.
• Proofread ads and other marketing tactics before they are shipped.

Qualifications/Requirements
• 1+ year of experience writing content for an entertainment or gaming company, creative agency, or in-house creative studio.
• A flair for short and sweet copy that speaks to both traditional and digital-first audiences.
• An eye for visual storytelling and understanding of how to craft fan-centric video content.
• An affinity for strategic thinking and a grasp of how messaging relates to static images.
• A love of detail and knowledge of grammatical rules.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, AirTable, Jira, and YouTube a plus.
• Writing samples that showcase your voice and range.
• An understanding of digital video production and post-production.
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
