Responsibilities
Job Purpose

The VP of Research will report to the SVP, Insights & Research for the Universal Studio Group organization. The ideal candidate will be a consultative strategist, thought leader, and strong collaborator who works across creative and functional teams within USG to identify and deliver provocative, strategic intelligence that drives business growth across domestic and global markets.Essential Responsibilities:
• Advise on key insights relevant to the changing media and technology landscape to help advance business goals by collecting, analyzing and interpreting multiplatform data from a variety of internal and external sources.
• Maximize the benefit of existing and new measurement sources to answers today's business questions while simultaneously building capabilities for future needs
• Drive thought leadership around best-in-class content research, leveraging metadata and other first party data sources
• Lead pilot testing and series optimization efforts across the Universal Studio Group organization
• Translate social conversation and digital engagement into rich insights around audience need states and content strengths
• Manage relationships and partnerships with 3rd party vendors
• Build, develop and manage a team of emerging skill sets and lead through influence across teams while promoting a culture of collaboration, problem solving and teamwork

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Media, Statistics or related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience; knowledge of both TV and digital analytics preferred
• Sophisticated understanding of primary research, survey development, brand tracking, qualitative content analysis, and Nielsen systems
• Expertise with advanced data management and visualization tools (Tableau, SQL, etc.) as well as superior Microsoft Office skills
• Established media industry leader with in-depth knowledge of the content landscape
• Ability to lead development of custom projects analyzing new and disparate data, as needed based on business opportunities
• Knowledge of 1st and 3rd party data including familiarity with relevant vendors in the media domain
• Executive presence with advanced communication and presentation skills
