Job Description

The Strategy & Operations team at Focus Features plays a key role in optimizing business decisions and driving continuous improvement across the organization. The team is a key business partner to the Chairman Focus Features, Focus Feature's senior leadership team and broader NBCUniversal executive leadership.

This VP, Strategy & Operations role leads one of the teams two verticals. It is primarily focused on the operational responsibilities of the team. These extend across 4 core areas: operational improvement; distribution support across the various monetization windows; Focus Insider direct-to-consumer efforts; leadership of other initiatives.

The role will report directly to the CFO & Head of Strategy & Operations at Focus Features and manage a team of 2 direct reports.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Operational improvement
• Lead all aspects of the company's overall business improvement approach, including leading & preparing for the regular ''Scrum'' meeting with the Chairman Focus Features and the senior leadership team, driving progress between meetings and ownership of specific projects.

Distribution support
• Domestic Theatrical – lead and oversee the analysis for optimizing movies release dates. Other Ad hoc analyses
• International Theatrical – track key activities across our international releases. Prepare agenda points for bi-weekly senior executive meetings to optimize efforts.
• Home Entertainment – key liaison to the group, attending regular meetings. Performance analysis and ad hoc analyses
• TV Distribution – oversee output deal slots analysis, highlighting opportunities and supporting subsequent monetization
• Peacock – performance analysis of Focus titles on the platform. Ad hoc analyses

Focus Insider
• Co-lead the development of the strategic vision of the insider platform, including the development of strategic options
• Be a key business partner supporting the on-going execution of the Focus Insider vision
• Oversee the optimization of Focus Insider data strategy and analytics
Other initiatives
• Cross NBCU brand opportunities – collaboratively identify and lead opportunities. Develop relationships and business plans to support execution.
• Sustainability – in partnership with NBCUniversal leadership & approach, drive Focus Features operations towards greener activities

Manage direct reports
• Coach, develop and delegate to 2 direct reports, providing constructive feedback and investing in their personal growth

Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience leading business operations optimization, specifically in a matrixed organization
• Demonstrable track record of influencing and driving organizational change
• Demonstrable track record of solving complex problems and executing on deliverables, relying on skills and network and with only higher level guidance from line manager

• Experience of managing reports at different levels of seniority
• A genuine enthusiasm for film and working in the movie business
• A deep understanding of the film industry and broader media landscape
• Experience of the ''Scrum'' management approach
• Strong financial modelling experience
• A deep understand of data & analytics
