Job Description
Reports to: EVP, Corp and NBCU Media Group Comms
Location: New York, NY
Job Duties
• Help manage external communications for NBCUniversal, providing strategic communications and media relations leadership for NBCUniversal's corporate executives and functions, including legal, government affairs, HR, finance, and operations and technology.
• Work with the EVP to coordinate external communications across NBCU businesses and brands. Lead issue management and crisis communication, including the development of communications plans and stakeholder outreach.
• Work closely with government affairs team on communications around federal and state public policy issues.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen the company's external presence.
• Manage press inquiries in a timely manner, build relationships with key industry reporters.
• Prepare leadership for media interviews, external speaking engagements and presentations
• Collaborate with communications leaders across the portfolio to manage reputational issues and cross company announcements
• Work closely with legal teams and HR to ensure that all external communications comply with industry regulations, corporate policies, and legal requirements. Stay informed on industry news and relevant policy changes to proactively address potential risks and identify new opportunities for the company.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in communications, strategy and execution
• Prior experience developing and executing successful communications strategies in the public sector around legislative and policy issues

• Must have excellent written and oral communications skills
• Exceptional strategic thinking, project/campaign management and execution skills
• Deep experience managing high-profile communications issues and expertise in crisis communications.
• An understanding of the public-sector and experience communicating about legislative and policy issues.

• Excellent leadership and management skills
• Self-starter/strategic initiative
• Exceptional relationship builder; works effectively at all levels of the organization
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines simultaneously
• Demonstrated ability to balance vision and creative thinking with analytical rigor to meet the organizations goals.
• Expertise in anticipating and responding to industry trends and potential policy changes.
• Ability to develop and implement long-term, proactive communication strategies that align with the organization's overall goals.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the new York City office a minimum of three days per week.
