Responsibilities
WNBC4 New York, NBCUniversal's flag ship station, is looking to hire a System Engineer in our iconic 30 Rock headquarters. Not only will this engineer help manage mission critical systems, they will also be part of some ground breaking projects at WNBC4 that will allow their technology exposure to flourish.
As WNBC4 upgrades to the latest cutting edge technology, incorporating cloud based and virtual IP systems, the Systems Engineer will support, maintain, and upgrade the critical newsroom production technology.
• Administer servers, storage, networking, mobile devices, desktops and laptops
• Support over 200+ users from local station
• Provides first class support and ensure reliability of all mission critical IT based systems
• Develop a close working relationship with our Corporate IT & Support teams
• Bring new ideas and operational practices to enhance the overall effectiveness of the team
• Maintain vigilance around security of our systems in line with Corporate Security standards
• Ensure all documentation is up to date
• Manage projects (plan, design, and implement), including risk mitigation and on-time delivery
• Partner with our key vendors on projects and support
• Provide user training as required
• Adhere to strict change management procedures

Qualifications/Requirements
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in Networking, Servers, Security, and monitoring configuration.
• Hands-on engineer capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with all levels within our organization
• WNBC is 24/7/365 business and requires being on-call. (monthly rotation)
• Must be able to lift equipment weighing 50Lbs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• This position requires shift work- fluctuates based on business needs
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal's Alternative Dispute Resolution program
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be willing to work in NYC
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
