Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Senior Vice President, Head of Licensing, Universal Studio Group (USG) Legal Affairs will lead the team of lawyers dedicated to licensing and co-production agreements for USG outbound original/first window content (including Universal Television, Universal Content Productions) and advise all of the USG studios on internal and external licenses of studio content.

This position will report to the General Counsel, USG Legal Affairs and work with legal, business and creative executives to negotiate and draft agreements, as well as providing guidance, legal advice and production support.

Responsibilities include:
• Oversee and manage USG Legal Affairs Licensing team.
• Working closely with USG Business Affairs, negotiate, structure, draft and interpret outbound license and new media agreements, including over streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Apple and Amazon;
• Negotiate and draft studio and network agreements, including co-production agreements, development and rights acquisition agreements, term, and writer/producer and director agreements.
• Partner with Business Affairs, Finance and Litigation regarding internal licensing structures, participation and audit issues.
• Provide positive, proactive leadership and constructive, practical counseling across NBCU divisions, including Networks, Peacock, and TV Distribution, to effectively manage legal risk for USG's business.
• Partner with business executives, as well as colleagues in the Law Department, to discuss and implement best practices and formulate new processes in connection with business needs.
• Other matters and related duties at the direction of the General Counsel, USG Legal Affairs.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications
• Member of California bar, or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel.
• A minimum of 15 years of entertainment and/or intellectual property licensing transactions experience, either in a law firm or comparable corporate setting.
