Job Description

Responsibilities

1) Predominantly read screenplays, manuscripts, and published books in addition to other written materials such as treatments, articles, short stories, graphic novels, and comics to assess them as potential projects for the studio. Provide a detailed written synopsis along with a critical evaluation of the material's strengths and weaknesses which include attached talent. Analysis should render a pass/consider recommendation and include relevant film/media references and competitive projects internally and beyond our studio. Expected turnaround is two screenplays a day, 150 pages read for published books/novels per day, and 200 pages read of manuscript material a day.

2) Read drafts of projects in development with extended written notes to track changes between drafts, improve story elements, and incorporate feedback from the studio. Expected turnaround is 2 days.

3)
Occasionally complete comparative reads, legal analyses, foreign-language reads, screenplay breakdowns and other research assignments. Expected turnaround determined on a case by case scenario.

Qualifications

Applicant must part of the Local 700 union.
