Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst, Business Analytics will be responsible for supporting operational & finance teams across 12 NBC Owned Stations, 31 Telemundo Owned Stations and 5 Regional Sports Networks. Reporting to Director of Finance, you will leverage data sources to conduct analysis, build models, develop dashboards, and deliver reports to the leadership team. This dedicated data steward will provide critical insights to our internal stakeholders which will ultimately drive data-led decisions.
Essential Functions:
• As the Business Analytics Analyst, this person will gather, review, and analyze financial & operational data across NBCU Local's portfolio
• Develop efficient BI solutions to support front end reporting used in decision making processes
• KPI's to show financial state/profitability across multiple Business Units
• Standardize Headcount Reporting across financial regions
• Track historical revenue performance and make predictions about future trends
• Contribute to special projects and other tasks required by management
• Liaise effectively with business users such as technology, research, sales operations, human resources, marketing, and finance to assess and determine suitable reporting documents and build data reports and dashboards
• Support the objectives of the finance teams with effective data and analytics solutions
• Use disparate data sets to standardize reports across all business units
• Deliver accurate and on time insights reports to stakeholders on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements
• BS or BA in Business, Market Research, Marketing, Analytics, Data, Statistics, Finance, Economics or related field, or equivalent market research or strategic planning experience
• 3+ year of experience working in research, data, analytics, or insights fields (finance exp a plus)
• Experience using SQL to model, query, and analyze data
• Ability to understand relational databases, data storage, and data warehouses
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and data modeling
• Data visualization experience (Tableau, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar tools)
• High proficiency with Excel
• Demonstrated system aptitude and knowledge of financial reporting software a plus (SAP & BPC)
• Media or entertainment experience is a plus
Basic Qualifications
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions - NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

• Experience with unstructured data and leading quality assurance initiatives to improve data quality
• Ability to understand, organize, and manage growing data sets, knowledge of relational databases and data properties
• Keen eye to identify problems, ideate potential solutions, and ultimately resolve problems
• Flourish when balancing multiple projects and priorities
• Be curious to think creatively and critically
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly
• Exceptional attention to detail

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
