About Versant: Versant is an industry-leading news, sports and entertainment media business that provides content through a portfolio of iconic television networks (MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, SYFY and Oxygen) and through complementary digital assets (Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and SportsEngine). Together our assets reach a wide range of passionate consumers across numerous endpoints.
Position Overview: This position reports to the Senior Manager of Sports & Entertainment Analytics and will assist in delivering timely, actionable insights to help drive business decisions for key stakeholders across our Entertainment businesses. This role provides a great opportunity to learn about all angles of the business and gain hands-on experience in media research.
Our team is responsible for building connections between Versant and its diverse audiences across all platforms, using our expertise in how generational and life-stage segments engage with entertainment media. We focus on research, data analysis, and performance metrics that help internal clients better understand target audiences, engagement patterns, consumer behavior and cultural trends.

Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain essential linear TV and streaming viewership data tracking and trending repositories.
• Monitor media industry trades to stay informed on trends, emerging third-party data providers and surface competitive developments to the broader team.
• Partner with the larger research team on the preparation and delivery of regularly recurring cable network performance reports and competitive analyses.
• Analyze and interpret the rapidly evolving media landscape to inform understanding of how audiences consume video content across all platforms, including SVOD and FAST.
• Support research efforts that assess the effectiveness of content strategies, including scheduling and stunting.
• Contribute to custom analyses evaluating the effectiveness of key content types – such as movies, acquired series, and special events – and identifying which genres are resonating with audiences.
• Employ creative data visualization techniques to present research insights in a fresh and thought-provoking manner tailored for key internal stakeholders.
• Oversee measurement processes such as submitting schedule information for cable networks in Versant's portfolio to Nielsen and ensure programming is captured accurately.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (concentration in Statistics, Business Analytics, Marketing, or related field a plus).
• 2+ years of analytics experience, preferably within the entertainment, media, or digital content industry.
• Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking and data storytelling, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Highly organized, adept at multitasking, and comfortable thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities, with a keen eye for details.
• Capable of working effectively both independently and within a collaborative team setting.
• Proven self-starter with the initiative and resourcefulness to independently learn new skills and adapt quickly to evolving challenges.
• Note: The interview process may include a skills assessment exercise.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau to create interactive dashboards and reports.
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with media-specific analytics platforms (e.g., Nielsen, comScore and) and KPIs (e.g., ratings, impressions, reach and churn)
• Avid consumer of television and streaming content, with a deep passion for and understanding of current programming, trends, and audience preferences across platforms.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Sr. Analyst salary range: $75,000 - $100,000
