Responsibilities
Role

Preference will be given to UPHE and WHE employees.
The Controllership Sr Accountant will be responsible for supporting JV accounting processes, many of which are performed by WHE Enterprise Financial Services (EFS). This role will also assist with reporting financial performance of SDS to key stakeholders (e.g. CFO, WHE, and UPHE).

Responsibilities:
include, but are not limited to:
• Perform certain accounting processes related to the monthly and quarterly financial close, including liaising with EFS and communicating key policies and balances to WHE and UPHE
• Calculate adjustments to JV financials for 3rd party distribution partner-specific financial provisions
• Assist with operational cash forecasting efforts for the JV, obtaining relevant information from Operations, Trade Marketing, and EFS
• Assist with the preparation of JV financial statements, including footnotes, for key SDS stakeholders
• Engage with EFS and other departments to obtain support for audits of SDS
• Work cross-functionally to ensure controls compliance
• Assist with any special projects and support in guiding cross-functional business initiatives
• Identify ideas for best practices and process improvement
• Maintain a strong working relationship with WHE and UPHE financial management, ensuring transparent financial policies and risks are clearly defined, communicated and prioritized
• Help create a culture of inclusion and collaboration across the finance team and its stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Proficient knowledge of financial statements
• Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, processes and controls, including the ability to identify and mitigate risks preferred
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint skills
