Job Description

The Specialist, Program Scheduling, plays a crucial role in the execution of linear programming strategies for the networks Telemundo, Universo & Telexitos. The manager, reporting to the Sr. Director, Programming, is responsible for the creation and maintenance of monthly programming grids.

Job Duties:
• Creates and maintains monthly programming grids for Telemundo, Universo & Telexitos
• Executes program changes for Telemundo, Universo & Telexitos in a timely manner and communicates said changes with all areas of the business.
• Coordinates with Programming Operations to ensure material for schedule is being prepped and formatted for scheduling needs.
• Ensures proper scheduling of children's programming to comply with current FCC guidelines.
• Creates and updates long range plan grids for budget refresh cycle.
• Attends weekly calls with various teams to review upcoming programming priorities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• 1+ years of media or television experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Media Communications, Film/TV production, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in large scale media environment (Broadcast, TV, News and information, Live Entertainment); or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage complex projects.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and other related tools

Desired Characteristics:
• Deep knowledge and passion for US Hispanic content.
• Strong understanding of television programming & production.
• Individual must be a diplomatic team player with the ability to work well under pressure and effectively manage the needs of multiple departments.
• Must be an efficient multi-tasker with high attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines, and a positive attitude.

Additional Requirements:
• This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
• Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
• Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
