Job Description
As the Senior Manager, Executive Communications is responsible for shaping and executing the executive communications strategy for the Advertising and Partnership's leadership team. Through high-caliber speaking engagements, industry awards and editorial lists, and research-driven thought leadership opportunities, this role is responsible for creating and implementing a forward-looking communications plan that amplifies business priorities and elevates leaders' presence within the media and advertising landscape.
This role will serve as both a strategy-setter and executor. You will be a cornerstone of the Advertising & Partnerships team-elevating executive voices and spotlighting the division's innovation, growth, and storytelling.
From a strategy perspective, you will guide speaking engagement participation by proactively vetting inbound requests, pitching session ideas, drafting abstracts, and identifying award and editorial opportunities. You'll also prepare executives for public appearances-from writing speeches and coordinating sponsorships to staffing red carpets. Additionally, you will collaborate with the research team to identify news-worthy insights that strongly position NBCUniversal as a thought leader across the advertising landscape.
From an execution perspective, you will track industry trends and manage a detailed calendar of opportunities. You'll also build and maintain strong relationships with press and programmers, securing the right spokespeople for high-impact moments. Responsibilities include drafting briefing documents, talking points, and social copy; coordinating logistics; media training; and on-site speaker support. You will partner with the speakers' team to source case studies and relevant content.
As a proven team-player, you will craft and execute proactive strategies, delegate effectively, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. You'll work cross-functionally with marketing and communications teams to align on earned and sponsored engagements, ensuring the right spokesperson and messaging for each opportunity.
Qualifications
• 6+ years of communications experience with at least 3 of those years in the executive communications space (pitching speaking engagements, drafting award submissions, securing research-backed thought leadership opportunities, and prepping/media training senior level executives)
• Strong relationships with event programmers and press in the media, advertising, marketing, business, sports, tech and/or financial markets.
• Familiarity with advertising and media conference circuit (CES, SXSW, NewFront, Upfront, Cannes Lions, Advertising Week)
• Highly organized individual with experience managing a calendar of events and awards with multiple deadlines and budgets
• Exceptional writing skills, with experience drafting op-eds, white papers, press releases, speeches, abstracts and award submissions.
• Ability to handle confidential information with care and professionalism.
• Proactive team-player with the ability to execute tasks with precision.
• Proven ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• NY-Based with ability to travel domestically and internationally; this role may occasionally require extended hours to meet deadlines or support key events.
