Senior Manager, Engineering and Operations

Job Description

Responsibilities
Working closely with the VP, Technology & Operations in executing the technical vision for the station
Overseeing engineering maintenance, transmission and tower and transmitter equipment
Lead and implement technology initiatives
Issue follow through including extraction of system logs, review process with vendor Support personnel and internal tracking of trends
Partnering with all departments to identify and meet technical needs
Managing technical personnel in key areas
In conjunction with Production Management, coordinating and overseeing system and workflow trainings
Creating and documenting SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) capturing technical systems and workflows
Assisting in preparation of technical budgets and forecasts to identify and achieve operating efficiencies, including purchasing of all necessary equipment.
Keeping abreast of latest technology and make recommendations on future direction and needs of the operations.
Working closely with NBC News Washington Bureau Technical Operations managers and Owned Stations Division technical leadership
Establishing solid vendor relationships
Ensuring compliance with FCC regulations
Developing disaster recovery plans and ensuring compliance with EHS policies

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a technical manager at a station, network and/or cable technical operations
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience

Additional Job Requirements
• Must be willing to work in Washington DC
• Must be 18 years or greater
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends & holidays as required and be regularly on-call

• Very strong interpersonal skills and communication skills; effective team player
• Strong customer service orientation
