Job Description

Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) role is part of the corporate FP&A team within Universal Pictures Home Entertainment located in Universal City, CA. This position will report into the FP&A Manager. The SFA will be responsible for actively managing central costs portfolio and help oversee Domestic and Global overhead along with various projects/ad hoc analyses. The SFA will be working closely with Film HQ, Central Marketing, Global Operations, Commercial FP&A, and Global Controllership teams.
• Consolidate and report Central Costs actuals, monthly estimates, and operating budget
• Manage communications with the Marketing and Operations teams
• Prepare monthly costs accruals
• Manage Central Costs and Overhead upload process into corporate and Home Entertainment systems
• Support the FP&A team with Domestic and Global Overhead budgeting, monthly forecasting, and quarter-end processes
• Provide robust variance analysis on a monthly basis and facilitate reviews with functional heads and budget holders to identify areas of potential costs savings, risks, and opportunities
• Review, analyze, and share insights/trends
• Build effective business partner relationships with internal stakeholders
• Contribute to various cost-related initiatives and ad hoc projects

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
• Proficient in MS Office Suite particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience in SAP/AOE/BPC or Essbase is preferred but not required

• Possess an aptitude for financial systems, solid analytical abilities, outstanding process improvement capabilities, and strong interpersonal skills
• Firm understanding of basic accounting principles: accruals, revenue and costs recognition
• Experience working with and mining large amounts of data and streamlining manual processes
• Exceptional attention to detail and high standards for quality and accuracy
• Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple and competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills and a pro-active approach to building working relationships in a matrix environment
• Ability to plan and organize work in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively handle sensitive and confidential matters
• Media/Entertainment experience
