The role:
The Senior Director, Product Design will define, design, and develop compelling experiences across the TVEverywhere (TVE) portfolio of streaming products, which includes NBC, NBC Sports, Bravo, E!, USA, SYFY, Oxygen, Telemundo and more. Success in this role is defined by the ability to understand and prioritize outstanding requests from product stakeholders and the ability to execute each of those asks in a way that drives outstanding results. As the leader of product design it is expected that this person serves as a mentor, providing guidance and creative direction when needed and establishing a regular professional development review cadence with each individual on their team. As part of the TVE Product/UX team, this role collaborates with multiple stakeholders including product, technology, marketing, data, and insights to solve problems and discover unique and elegant ways for our products to drive value for the business.
What you'll do:
• Lead a team of product designers to deliver end-to-end UX for high-value, consumer-centric products.
• Grow talent – providing creative direction and mentorship to designers by defining patterns and practices for the team and the product.
• Present creative with compelling storytelling to all audiences – formulating and communicating ideas and plans to peers, leadership, and engineering contributors.
• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to successfully deliver products to market, including driving alignment around process, priorities and deliverables.
• Ensure leadership is informed and in alignment with the team, and proactively identify and address any blockers the team is experiencing.
• Provide creative thought leadership by driving UX design solutions through industry best practices and owned expertise, with a lens to business or technical limitations and impact.
• Lead design team in concept explorations.
• Define strategy and experience of the TVE products in partnership with product and technology.
• Advocate and lead as domain expert for all team design and user experiences.
• Partner with product lead to establish process, tools and training to evolve user testing as a team practice, including creating and managing a testing roadmap that aligns with the goals of the business and the vision of the product.
• Oversee the design systems team on design foundations and design for our product experiences.
• Ensure your team delivers high quality craft with efficiency and in alignment with agreed upon deadlines, sometimes establishing those deadlines to push the program forward.
• Serve as the TVE user experience subject matter expert, providing design guidance, documenting best practices, and escalating risks.
• Encourage creative thinking - looking for ways to optimize the user experience given relevant constraints.
• Champion, define and evolve the Testing Roadmap in partnership with Product Experimentation leads, developing the experimentation and design thinking appetite and skills of the team
• Translate actionable insights from user testing into long-term strategies that support business objectives.
• Develop a complete understanding of consumers and how they interact with each product and socialize with partners to evolve the product
• Collaborate with other design leaders across DTC to identify efficiencies, shared best practices and learnings and to build a strong Design culture and community
• Track team performance, goals, and growth through quarterly OKRs.
• Ensure team has the tools needed to succeed including managing design tools, vendors, contracts/renewals and usage in alignment with SVP of TVE Product & Audience Experience on budget.

Qualifications
• 10+ years industry experience in the field of UX/Product Design.
• 7+ years of experience managing and developing diverse design teams.
• A degree in design, computer science, or human factor design.
• An online portfolio reflecting that experience, including shipped and currently in-market products, and demonstrating end-to-end design methodology.
• Advanced expertise with leading design tools, including the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Sketch, Figma, and other collaboration and prototyping tools.
• Past experience leading a team of 3 or more resources.
• Demonstrated expertise and experience designing for web, mobile, and other application platforms.
