Job Description
Responsibilities

The Senior Director, Finance plays a key role on the Focus finance team, reporting to the VP of Finance, who oversees all core finance activities. The role is responsible for managing all worldwide film ultimates and the consolidated P&L of Focus Features, including forecasting, analysis and financial modeling. There is exposure to the most senior Focus leadership, with a significant amount of time spent business partnering with Focus strategy, Universal Pictures International Distribution and Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) finance leadership. The role will manage and be responsible for growing and developing a high performing direct report.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

Worldwide Distribution
• Driving monetization of Focus WW film releases across all windows (theatrical / home ent. / TV dist.)
• Overseeing weekly finance reporting for distribution to Focus & UFEG leadership
• Ownership of the ongoing development of the strategic slate, including risk profile and financials
• Scenario modeling for upcoming releases, ensuring ''all-rights'' profitability is optimized
• Management of pre-release scenarios and financials, R&O's and associated communication

Business Partnering
• Working closely with Strategy team on the greenlight process, including financial modeling & ensuring robust sign-off and complete documentation
• Assessing and managing strategic projects, driving progress and delivery
• Providing oversight and context to International Theatrical to optimize release strategy, advising on territory releases and investment requirements

Budgeting & Reporting (UFEG and Focus)
• Supporting the preparation of annual budget & long-range plan sessions & playing a key role in UFEG Op Reviews
• Managing quarterly OCF reporting & close process including consolidating, forecasting & pacing
• Overhead reporting - creating and tracking budget and key metrics of employees

Qualifications

Desired Characteristics:
• Solid mix of FP&A, Business Partnership and Commercial Finance experience
• Proven track-record in developing excellent working relationships
• Ability to frame complex decisions & options in a clear & thoughtful way
• Ability to influence outcomes with executives
• A genuine enthusiasm for film and working in the movie business
• A self-starter, that is committed to improving current ways of working and personal growth
• Strong attention to detail whilst being able to communicate the bigger picture and lead meetings
• Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

Basic Qualifications:
• Professional Finance Qualifications (CPA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent)
• Minimum of 8 years varied finance experience in the entertainment industry
• Advanced financial modeling skills and use of Excel, Power Point, SAP / Business Warehouse
• Experience of managing and developing a direct report

Salary Range: $150,000-$185,000; bonus eligible, not long-term incentive eligible.

Salary Details
Salary Range: $150,000 to $185,000 Per Year ($ USD)
