Job Description
Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio is a powerhouse collection of consumer-first brands, supported by media industry leaders, Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky. When you join our team, you'll work across our dynamic portfolio including Peacock, NOW, Fandango, SkyShowtime, Showmax, and TV Everywhere, powering streaming across more than 70 countries globally. And the evolution doesn't stop there. With unequalled scale, our teams make the most out of every opportunity to collaborate and learn from one another. We're always looking for ways to innovate faster, accelerate our growth and consistently offer the very best in consumer experience. But most of all, we're backed by a culture of respect. We embrace authenticity and inspire people to thrive.

We're looking for someone who considers themselves equal parts designer and engineer and loves to operate in the space where the two disciplines meet. You're passionate about collaborating on ideas as part of a team then bringing those ideas to life in the form of real, tangible, high-fidelity prototypes. In terms of core skill set, you look like a front-end engineer. You also have a strong eye for detail and biases towards speed, innovation, and, above all, the end user experience.

You'll be joining a small, but mighty Design Engineering team which sits within the Viewing Experience, Product and Design organization at Peacock. This team's mission is to improve the product design process through the art of high-fidelity prototyping. Your primary function on this team will be to build prototypes that explore new features and experiences for the Peacock app across all platforms.

What You'll Do
• Work with designers, product managers, and user researchers to build prototypes that aid in design exploration, usability research, and stakeholder buy-in
• Improve on initial design concepts through the prototyping process
• Build and maintain shared toolkits and codebases that make prototyping easier and faster
• Build and access APIs that pull live data into prototypes
• Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies, adopting them for use as needed
• Look for ways to improve our prototyping processes and capabilities
• Take lead on projects and start new frameworks, toolkits, and codebases from scratch
• Mentor other members of the team, helping them level-up their skills and experience

Qualifications
• Expert-level experience with React and/or React Native
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Degree in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Design, or equivalent practical experience
• Portfolio of relevant work and code samples showing a proficiency in software development
• Expert-level experience with HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript
• Proficient with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong experience performing software development in a team environment (participation in peer code reviews, use of developer tools such as version control and build systems, and adherence to team coding standards)
• Strong experience building or consuming APIs
• Familiarity with web and cloud infrastructure
• Very strong written/verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Strong experience working cross-functionally with product designers, engineers, product managers, and user-researchers
• Strong understanding of interaction and user experience design best practices and workflows
• Experience developing prototypes for international audiences

Nice-To-Have
• Experience with other modern languages and frameworks (Swift / SwiftUI, Next.js, TypeScript, LightningJS, etc.)
• Experience with video streaming and tv-based platforms
• Experience with a variety of relevant platforms and tools such as Contentful, Vercel, Framer, GitHub, GraphQL, Node.js, and Xcode
