Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant plays a key role, supporting the oversight of the daily accounting activities of Telemundo Enterprises. This position will support the monthly close and the overall accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting. The role will support the (i) standardization of existing processes with the rest of NBCU's TV & Streaming group, (ii) identification of business process efficiencies, and (iii) implementation of best practices.

Basic Requirements:
• Support month, quarter, and year-end close process inclusive of journal entry preparation and review, account reconciliation preparation and financial statement analysis
• Assist with the preparation of the Balance Sheet variance analysis and quarterly review with Telemundo's CFO, VP of FP&A and Corporate Accounting
• Ability to communicate and document accounting conclusions
• Timely preparation of quarterly data requests for Corporate Accounting for purposes of internal and external reporting purposes
• Ensure all accounting transactions and reporting to Corporate are in compliance with US GAAP
• Prepares General Ledger reconciliations (Accruals, Prepaid, Deferred Revenue and Expenses, Program Rights and Amortization)
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Build financial reporting in SAP /AOE
• Assists in the maintenance of the General Ledger master data
• Partner as trusted advisor with the finance team on issues concerning monthly close
• Assist in the accurate and timely preparation of all regular and ad hoc management reports
• Participate disseminating corporate policies and procedures to the Telemundo finance teams
• Supports external and internal audits
• Suggest process improvements and assist in the implementation internal controls
• Supports Global Finance Organization and initiatives to standardize processes and improver overall quality of close

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance
• Minimum of two years of GL accounting experience
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced skills
• Microsoft Word – intermedia skills
• Microsoft PowerPoint – intermediate skills
• Possesses organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Critical thinking as well as analytical skills

Desired Characteristics:
• CPA strongly preferred
• Big 4 Accounting firm experience
• Experience with integrated ERP Accounting systems (SAP & Oracle)
• Relevant media, productions, and cable industry experience
• Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
• Experience with accounting in multiple currencies
• Effective problem solving

Additional Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid driver's license Willingness to work flexible hours
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
