Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant oversees general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
• Support month, quarter and year-end close process, including sports rights, acquired programming and TV costs close processes
• Prepare financial close deliverables/Corporate data request according to schedule
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
• Prepares General Ledger reconciliations (Accruals, Prepaid, Leases, Deferred Revenue and Expenses, Amortization)
• Prepares journal entries following the company's best practices
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Build financial reporting in SAP BW/AOE
• Assists in the maintenance of the General Ledger master data
• Participate in financial standards setting
• Supports external and internal audits
• Suggest process improvements and assist in the implementation internal controls
• Supports multiple Telemundo entities such as TLMD Deportes, TLMD Global Studios, TLMD Programming

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of two years of GL accounting experience
• Experience with integrated ERP Accounting systems
• Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced skills
• Microsoft Word – basic skills.
• Exhibits computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology
• Demonstrates knowledge of financial software programs
• Possesses organizational skills
• Displays the ability to pay close attention to detail
• Has knowledge of general accounting practices and financial accounting standards
• Has critical thinking as well as analytical skills

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be willing to work late evenings, and occasional holidays or weekends per business need

Desired Characteristics
• Experience with intercompany reconciliation and consolidation processes, a plus
• Effective problem solving
• SAP experience, a plus
• Experience with accounting in multiple currencies, a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to deliver while working under time pressure on multiple assignments
• Ability to adapt and work well in a rapidly changing environment
