Responsibilities
Role Summary/Purpose:
The Production Finance Accounting Coordinator supports the Manager of Production Finance with the emphasis on Film Development with ties to Production. The candidate will liaison with Accounts Payable and Payroll to forecast and process contractual payments. Daily interaction with all levels of the Studio including Senior Management, Tax, Legal, Business Affairs, Creative, Story and other business units of the Company. The position deals with highly sensitive and confidential vendor material and financial information.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Decipher, interpret, and translate legal contracts into payment terms
• Prepare confidential accounts payable and payroll requests for payment
• Help administer ACH, check distribution and wire transfers with follow-up and confirmation
• Assist in forecasting weekly cash expenditures
• Reconcile WGA Pension, Health & Welfare and Local 839 PH&W contribution actuals and report any discrepancies. Update project files and disbursement logs accordingly
• Reconcile T&L expenditures and process reimbursements
• Update project files with all relevant contractual, payment and vendor information
• Interface with Talent Representatives
• Solicit and update talent employee data forms
• Secure vendor status in maintaining current tax compliant forms
• Point person for inquiries relating to development payment procedures
• Update and distribute various internal Development Finance Reports
• Prepare requests for project allocation journal entries
• Research studio costs and obtain backup
• Verify account coding accuracy
• Central File maintenance
• Serve as a back-up when team members are out of the office
• Provide administrative support to Senior Management
• General office maintenance, including heavy phones and filing of confidential documentation
• Assist and/or coordinate other special projects as required (for example: WGA Audits, Statute of Limitation Recording, implementation of new procedures, etc)
• Ability to drive a golf cart to deliver/pick-up documentation
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and high volume administrative role within the entertainment industry (payroll and/or legal contract experience preferred)
• Must be excellent and proficient with PC and Microsoft Office software
• Familiarity with 'Industry' contractual language essential
• Candidates must be motivated, extremely organized and detail oriented, have excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality for highly sensitive materials and details is key
• Strong follow-through and able to anticipate issues before they arise
• Ability to multitask and juggle many competing priorities efficiently
• Excellent critical thinking skills
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to join L174 union
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
