NBCUniversal International Studios is a division of Universal Studio Group, delivering award winning content to millions across the globe. Based in London, the business' in-house production labels include Carnival Films, Monkey, Australian-based Matchbox Pictures and Working Title Television. NBCUniversal International Studios also operates a joint production venture with Heyday Television and owns an equity stake in Lark Productions in Canada. Additionally, the studio houses a UK and LA- based scripted unit that develops and produces original series.
Job Description
This role is the Key production lead for UIS and Heyday productions. The Production Executive role is suited to an experienced Production Executive or seasoned line producer with solid line producing experience in multi-episodic TV arena. This role will be supported by the Production Manager during production and will work closely with other Production Executives and Post-production Executives, when applicable.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accountable for the end-to-end running of projects, management of all shows and work with Production Companies, leveraging previous proven skillset to deliver in the role.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with other key industry
organisations.
• Drive initiatives & continuous improvement across Production and the team.
• Senior professional, who represents UIS across all areas of work, leading by example and embodying the values and behaviours of UIS.
• Ability to manage and grow with an evolving team and slate within the studio environment.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS
• Recent Line producing or management of a Production Executive across episodic drama series.
• Development budgeting and scheduling.
• Experience with production planning and overview from early development stage, working with outlines / treatments to develop production feasibility planning and AAG schedules and budgets.
• MMB Budgeting – ability to generate accurate full multi territory, multi-currency MMB with inclusion of relevant tax relief coding, fringes etc.
• Managerial level experience with excellent organization, planning, interpersonal and analytical skills underlined by ability to stand by difficult managerial decisions, with demonstrable evidence of ability to manage and resolve conflicts in the workplace and when appropriate to involve additional support to resolve.
• Industry knowledge of key technical requirements for production – i.e., Camera, Lighting, Grip, Facilities etc.
• Knowledge of current crew and department equipment rates and trends.
• Professional awareness of correct department crewing structure based around demands of editorial and constraints of budget level.
• Experience liaising and managing international production service companies.
• Good industry knowledge and ideally relationships with key recognized industry organisations such as PACT, BFI, Production Guild, BAFTA etc.
• Producing experience with technical suppliers – i.e., proven track record in directly negotiating production deals with e.g., Camera house, Lighting companies etc.
• Line Producing level experience of directly negotiating production agreed rates with Agents and Crew.
• Line Producing experience in assessing and advising on departmental budgets and schedules to support NBCU production LP's and HODS to ensure correct allocations are in place and importantly, skilled at advising and discussing logic for adjustments when required.
• Cost Reporting. Ability to understand production key cost reporting and associated financial reports underpinning the logic and accuracy of the cost report.
• LP level forecasting experience to assist with early identification of possible overages and underages. Solid experience with liaising with the producers to manage this process.
• Ability to be across all daily production paperwork – Call sheet, RA's, Progress reports etc and ability to track these documents and ensure accuracy and consistency with the production paperwork reporting.
• Responsibility for the implementation of NBCU company policies, supported by NBCU production manager, including but not limited to, Comcast Code of Conduct, Child Protection, GDPR, Risk Assessments, Anti-harassment and bullying.
• Ability to be across more than one production at a senior management level and to present information reliably and succinctly.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Good relationships with crew agents and HODs.
• Production Insurance ideally first-hand experience with responsibility for Insurance claims and management of the claim directly with Insurance Loss Adjustor.
• Movie magic scheduling.
