Universal Product & Experience (UP&E), and licenses branded consumer goods and promotional products which are sold at retail theme parks and/or otherwise distributed worldwide. Product lines currently include toys, home product, children's products, food/drinkware, apparel, souvenirs, jewelry, stationery, collectibles and candy/consumables.

Job Description

UP&E is seeking a Product Development Manager to support the expansion on product development across all parks. The role will require the candidate to oversee and manage the Global Sourcing product development team in Singapore and work closely with Brand Managers, Designers and their team from all parks.

The role will also collaborate with international business partners to strategize and execute product development within the agreed timeframe across UP&E-owned or -affiliated destination entertainment venues (both US and international). This includes managing the team and task related to product development, quality standard or delivery requirement set by different UP&E -owned destination in accordance with regulations, Company's brand standards and best practices.

The role will also require the candidate to work with all parks and suppliers to recommend any changes to the current product development process that will meet the affiliated destination product safety standards.

Your responsibilities include:
• Oversee and manage a team of Product developers and designer. Work closely with Brand Manager and Compliances team during product development stage and product approval stage.
• To participate in UPRGM product development meeting or calls conducted in other time zones
• Manage project and development timeline, troubleshoot designs and product quality issues in a timely manner and to ensure product development operations runs smoothly.
• Assist the supervisor in specific business development and team building, ensuring sustainable development and team skill enhancement.
• Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply that comply with company standard.
• Spearhead and collaborate key stakeholders on resource products, leveraging products and/or bidding.
• Ensure proper data organization and detailed records of projects and product development in systems.
• To collaborate with team to assess, identify and pursue new suppliers opportunities.
• Maintaining strategic sourcing and product development relationship and developing strong partnership with all stakeholders.
• To facilitate onboarding of new vendors for international parks and to carry out merchandising responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Undertake other ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent combination of education and experience in brand licensing.
• At least 8 years of experience on international product development or in a similar Manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in managing a team of professional product developers, as well as fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Understanding of how product components and materials work together both functionally and aesthetically.
• Exceptional analytical problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Familiar with product manufacturing knowledge and understanding of regulations across Asia such as China/Indonesia or Vietnam
• Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Microsoft office, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Exhibit proactivity in responding quickly to requests and opportunities and quickly convert plans into actions.
• Able to travel internationally as required.
• Able to communicate with non-English native speakers from other countries or culture.
• Understanding Indonesia or Vietnam product manufacturing background and with knowledge on exporting products to USA, Japan or China will be an advantage.
