Job Description
Responsibilities
The Marketing Specialist for WWDT Ft. Myers station is responsible for leading marketing departmental efforts, under the supervision of the Director of Marketing, collaborating with cross functional teams to build and develop strong organic growth.

Responsibilities:
• Identify new marketing opportunities in conjunction with all marketing team
• Work closely with the News Department to support their daily efforts
• Communicate, implement and manage marketing campaigns for our programming
• Execute local, non-traditional marketing strategies and campaigns for WWDT station (Sweeps, Station Events, Station Initiatives and Community Campaigns)
• Develop new strategies to promote our brand on digital
• Manage updating of web content (product & branding)
• Act as community affairs liaison
• Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to develop marketing campaigns, concepts and materials such as, advertising campaigns, promotional campaigns, news image campaigns, brochures, flyers premiums, etc.
• Support the production team to ensure the proper execution of on-location shooting sessions
• Develop concepts and copy for press releases, presentations, brochures and e-marketing materials
• Assist with brainstorming, planning and execution with sales initiatives
• Collaborate with the News department to create promotions such as topical, image, franchise campaigns and special projects
• Develop evaluation post-reports for marketing, sales & news for the Director of Marketing & company review
• Monitor launches & performance of our local and national titles to create and update highlights for local sales team
• Supervise marketing outlets for proper use of our brand and promotional materials
• Manage, communicate, facilitate and organize the intricate details pertaining to special marketing and station events, galas, socials, presentations, non-profit meetings/fundraisers, etc.
• Communicate clearly and in a timely matter with all production team members
• Oversee the orders and delivery of all materials and/or publications for our marketing/branding campaigns and sales materials making sure they meet time, quality & budget requirements
• Attend weekly planning/production meeting with the sales department
• Attend daily planning/assignments meeting with the news department

Qualifications/Requirements
• Background in News, Public relations, Communications or Marketing related degree or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum of 3+ years of related experience
• Proven experience as copy writer (preferable for news promotion)
• Experience evaluating advertising and grass roots programs
• Experience in developing compelling presentation materials and proposals; formal presentation skills
• Experience working directly with talent, producers, managers and media to schedule and supervise interviews and on location sessions
• Experience managing all creative process for materials, from initial creative developing grid to coordinating approval process
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.
• Superior written and oral communication skills with copywriting capabilities; flawless grammar & orthography in Spanish & English

Eligibility Requirements:
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work in Ft. Myers, FL
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write)
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be ''on call'' 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
