The Manager of NBCU Data Product Management will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end product life cycle for select data products within the NBCU portfolio. They will champion a Data-as-a-Product mindset and will be responsible for governing, operating, and improving the data products under their supervision while driving utilization by the NBCU businesses.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for data and building data products; experience working with audience measurement tools and large datasets; Tableau/SQL proficiency; and the drive to deliver products that align with business objectives. In addition, they will enable conversations between stakeholders, executives, engineers, analysts, other product teams, and all customers who use the data. In-depth knowledge and experience of Digital Data solutions is essential to support the growing demand for solutions in that area, however, an excellent understanding of wider technology landscape is also an advantage.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage and be accountable for the entire product development lifecycle for your products, including clear requirements standards, a defined process to translate requirements into technical scope and subject matter expertise in breaking down requirements into user stories to inform the scope and design of data solutions
• Build partnership with technology partners to define the roadmap for and realize implementation of new data capabilities, contributing to high level designs, integrity of solution and a comprehensive UAT
• Develop key relationships with stakeholders to deliver timely requirements that ensure the solution can be defined and business value understood by the team
• Ensure that the solutions deliver business objectives and that the benefits are realized
• Assist in defining KPIs to track success and prioritize features for development.
• Manage the data fidelity to and from all products and partners, this includes data quality, lineages, etc. and champion data literacy to drive adoption across the organization
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred, in an analytical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of experience in data analysis, data management and data quality assurance
• Product management experience from design to implementation of portfolio of tools
• Prior experience in Media industry, preferably in Research capacity
• Clear communicator who can articulate complex data concepts and strategies to stakeholders of all levels and experience with data
• Must have advanced knowledge of SQL, R and/or Python and experience with Snowflake
• Advanced knowledge of data visualization platforms, including but not limited to Tableau
Desired Characteristics:
• Familiarity with TV audience measurement (linear and non-linear) and digital reporting tools (i.e. Adobe, Comscore)
• Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a dynamic environment
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization, including department heads and executives
• Effective time management skills
• Superior quality control and attention to detail
• Demonstrated fast learner and proactive problem solver
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
