Job Description

Responsibilities

Successful candidate will be the primary Financial and Accounting support for the Special Events team at Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park. Develop and maintain best in class financial and accounting processes. Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis. Partner with operators to maximize operational efficiencies. Lead/assist with various ad hoc projects as required.

Responsibilities:

Accounting, Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Utilize SAP Project and Timekeeper systems to generate charge numbers for events
• Month end close; book journal entries, variance analysis, reporting
• Prepare monthly position update for senior management, department and Finance
• Manage Deferred Revenue balance sheet account and monthly reconciliation's
• Work closely with Special Events Production team to manage event close outs and reconciliations

Maximize Operational Efficiencies:
• Strengthen controls to ensure a ''no surprises'' environment. Leverage relationships with operating partners to optimize efficiencies and influence behavior
• Ensure all appropriate accounting and financial procedures/standards are followed
• Develop and drive accounting process improvements

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in business/accounting/finance or related field.
• Willingness to work overtime, and/or on weekends when necessary
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office in Universal City a minimum of three days per week.

Desired Characteristics:
• Resourceful problem solver, with the ability to prioritize and create approaches to meet required objectives.
• Excellent analytical abilities are required, including advanced Excel and Access skills; SAP, BPC and/or Microstrategy knowledge a plus.
• Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and influence a wide spectrum of customers.
