Job Description

Responsibilities
The Director, NBCU News Group Communications will create and drive the overall internal communications strategy for the News Group. They will be part of the NBCU News Group Communications/PR team and partner closely with Human Resources as well as senior leaders from across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a champion of NBCU News Group culture and collaborate with all internal partners to ensure effective communications to the employee population for bureaus across the U.S.

Responsibilities:
• Build, execute and drive all comprehensive, network-wide internal communications plans through innovative and creative approaches for executives across NBCUniversal's News Group Division
• Serve as communications advisor to executives and senior leadership for all internal communications efforts including employee briefings and company speaking engagements
• Partner with Human Resources to champion culture and strategic people initiatives
• Collaborate with larger PR team, and other divisions, to coordinate and generate ideas and materials for News Group presence at industry events
• Work closely with PR and marketing colleagues on external communications initiatives to find ways to engage employee population
• Create and maintain executive bios, memos, talking points and other communication materials
• Work hand-in-hand with news group's DEI team and NBCU Academy to enhance internal awareness and engagement on diversity and inclusion initiatives
• Monitor competitive environment and industry trends and drive adaptation accordingly
• Coordinate with executives, producers, NBC Standards and Legal on approval of written materials

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years relevant media relations and communications experience
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or equivalent
• Willingness to work after hours and on weekends with short notice
• Proven experience working with all levels of executives, talent, and media
• Possess a strong understanding of and experience with social media
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong news judgment and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment
• Ability to work across and balance multiple teams and projects

• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
