Job Description

As Director of Development for Live Events & Specials, this role covers all elements of editorial programming, from pitch to final delivery. The individual must be an excellent communicator who can effectively collaborate with internal and external partners to develop high quality content and maximize the value of any event for the NBCU brand. Based in Los Angeles, CA with some travel required. This role reports to SVP, Live Events & Specials.

Responsibilities:
• Work with colleagues on both coasts in development of Live Events & Specials
• Brainstorm, pitch, research and create materials for development concepts, including one pagers, decks and strategy initiatives as directed
• Provide clear, concise feedback on direction in all facets of new content
• Collaborate with internal and external production partners as necessary
• Participate in development a multi-platform content strategy plan for division
• Outreach to creative community to encourage external pitches; provide clear direction on content needs
• Supply up-to-date information to Development Tracker
• Actively encourage opportunities for new creative voices within the genre
• Liaise between departments as needed e.g. Business & Legal, Standards & Practices, Rights & Clearances, Production Design etc.
• Monitor and summarize evolving pop culture and industry trends
• Regularly collate relevant trade news
• An understanding of NBCU editorial and business priorities

Qualifications
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Production/Development
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed including travel both domestic and international
• Knowledge of live and event production process
• Effective communication skills inc. written language, public speaking and active listening
• Strong attention to detail

Additional Requirements:
• Must be willing to travel, attend events, and work weekends as required.
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as a hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $115,000 - $150,000
