Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President, Client Strategy; the Client Strategy Director will be part of a team responsible for developing deep knowledge of assigned industries/clients and translating that knowledge into innovative, client-focused NBCU portfolio solutions. The position will support the day-to-day activities and partnership between the Client Partnerships, Sales, Insights & Measurement, Marketing, and Product teams to drive revenue and grow our clients' businesses.
• Serve as part of the ''go-to,'' expert team for building and scaling category knowledge for key industries including Tech, Telecom, and Entertainment across NBCUniversal Ad Sales
• Cultivate deep category expertise and understanding of marketplace dynamics to create scalable, client-centric strategies and solutions that utilize the full power of NBCUniversal
• Develop and deliver compelling insights that fuel strategic innovation within your assigned categories in support of the NBCU portfolio
• Understand the breadth of Comcast/NBCU platforms and assets and how they can drive business impact for client's branding and business goals
• Identify and define areas for growth including potential revenue/market share gains on existing accounts and work with sales to capitalize on those opportunities
• Research, analyze and report on changing consumer behaviors & media industry trends
• Contribute to NBCUniversal's thought leadership by identifying audience, content, and cultural opportunities, and bringing these opportunities to life through easy to use, go-to-market materials
• Provide strategic sales positioning to differentiate NBCUniversal in the marketplace
• Lead and participate in projects using creative insights to generate new revenue opportunities across NBCUniversal
• Lead a team of assigned Managers and/or Coordinators while managing timelines and workflow
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• MBA preferred
• 8+ years in relevant experience (consulting, brand strategy, agency planning/strategy)
• Successful candidate must be a strategic thinker with a strong interest in advertising/media, consumer insights, and business
• Prior experience with category strategy across key industries such as CPG, Beverage, Travel, Automotive, Retail, Technology, QSR, Finance, or Pharmaceuticals
• Understanding of media tools to help drive data, insights, and trends across key categories
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead collaborative efforts across multiple teams at NBCUniversal
• Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Act proactively to anticipate and deliver on sales requests and client need
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Excellent executive level presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately with excellent attention to detail
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Willingness to travel and work overtime
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
