Job Description
Role Purpose
The Counsel, Compliance Investigations will play a pivotal role in promoting NBCUniversal's strong culture of compliance and ethics. The successful candidate will help oversee and conduct internal compliance investigations, and work as a highly experienced project manager capable of driving and supporting management of the global Compliance investigations portfolio. This includes various Compliance operations initiatives related to internal investigations, including design, implementation and maintenance of policies, systems, metrics, and other controls. The position will report to the SVP, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer.
Job Duties
• Conduct compliance investigations in partnership with fellow compliance team members and other stakeholders, including employment, human resources, finance, and security
• Conduct witness interviews and draft investigation memos
• Develop and enhance investigation related procedures and trainings
• Lead analysis, oversight, and reporting on investigations
• Spot trends and themes in investigations, including root causes, matter classification, and disciplinary results
• Advise on and make recommendations for investigation outcomes and follow-up actions
• Serve as a representative of NBCUniversal on enterprise-wide investigation forums, and partner closely with enterprise colleagues
• Oversee organization of investigation documentation in accordance with Company policy and expectations
• Prepare and lead presentations to senior management and colleagues
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
• BA/BS degree
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, including in-house experience, service in a top tier law firm and/or relevant government position (prosecutor or public defender's office)
Desired Characteristics
• Demonstrated ability in project management, organization, and execution
• Excellent judgment and ability to handle sensitive matters
• Strong understanding of the elements of an effective compliance program for a publicly-traded, global company
• Experience conducting and advising on internal investigations
• Experience with international compliance programs and matters
• Understanding of rules, regulations, and best compliance practices regarding anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, US political activities, conflicts of interest, gifts and business entertainment
• Knowledge of operational, financial, and human resource functions and procedures
• Superior teamwork skills, with ability to gain the respect of, and build a rapport with, multiple constituencies, internally and externally
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently, as well as collaboratively, and to manage and motivate a team
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
