Job Description

The Manager, Communications on the Unscripted/Competition & Gameshow Pod will strategize and drive publicity campaigns for a wide range of shows generating maximum positive coverage and tune-in for networks including NBC Broadcast, Bravo, Oxygen, Universal Kids & E!

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Act as media strategist, campaign planner and spokesperson for assigned shows
• Aid in development and execution of a comprehensive communications campaigns to support assigned series and specials
• Develop positive relationships with the talent, producers, PR agencies and representatives, agents, managers, production staffs, media and programming executives in order to ensure effective flow of communication and maximum positive press coverage
• Coordinate print and electronic interviews and photo shoots
• Generate press materials including ratings and programming releases, bios, captions, feature stories, talking points, story synopsis, pitch letters and correspondence
• Pitch stories to trade and consumer press to support series
• Service daily media requests and act as network source of information on programs
• Promote, create and implement special promotional activities including publicity parties, press conferences and screenings
• Media train talent and producers
• Track budgets for different shows

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• 4+ years of experience in television/entertainment publicity
• Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related industry field
• Some travel and weekend work required
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications:
• Superior written and verbal communications skills
• Experience planning and executing high profile publicity campaigns
• Savvy in pitching, booking and covering national and local media interviews
• Effective multi-tasker with the ability to juggle several series in various stages of development
• Strategic and critical thinker that can identify controversial content and/or talent issues to elevate in a timely manner
• Ability and proven track record working with high profile talent, managers, producers and executives as well as positive media relationships
• Ability to develop interesting and unusual creative ideas to help set the networks apart in the press
• Solid organizational/creative skills, detail oriented, collaborative team player
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to think big and innovate
• Additional Requirements:
• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week

Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 (bonus eligible)
