Job Description
Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio is a powerhouse collection of consumer-first brands, supported by media industry leaders, Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky. This role reports to the Account Management & Localization Director.

Primary Focus

You will be responsible for understanding various global markets from a localization perspective - inclusive of formal vs. informal speech patterns, territorial linguistic nuances, market patterns and cultural sensitivities - in order to adapt our products for both current and expansion markets.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform international market research and analysis
• Identify and understand common market patterns that affect the product space
• Partner with Product Management to develop territory-specific localization product strategy and planning for international propositions.
• Develop and maintain localization linguistic resources such as style guides, glossaries and term bases.
• Provide cultural input, insights and recommendations to inform larger product, copy and design decision-making in partnership with Content Design
• Partner with vendors and internal QA teams to implement and enforce quality assurance processes for maintaining linguistic integrity.
• Provide oversight and input around translation and localization bug management
• Serve as the primary point person for translation and localization requests and validation
• Optimize localization process and practices on an ongoing basis for efficiency and efficacy

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Attributes:
• Experience performing competitive research and market analysis
• Passion for language and culture
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Direct experience with translation, transcreation and localization
• Experience developing and maintaining linguistic assets - including glossaries, term bases and style guides.
• Knowledge of multilingual UAT/QA best practices
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and extremely well-organized

Desired Skills and Attributes:
• Fluency in non-English language(s) a plus
• Copywriting or copy-editing skills a plus
• Experience with localization tools and management systems (i.e., Smartling) a plus
• Degree/education in Linguistics or Cultural Studies a plus
• Experience working on global or international streaming services a plus

Essential Knowledge and Experience:
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple business requests
• Knowledge of multilingual UAT/QA best practices
• Great collaboration and facilitation skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships and succeed as a team player within the organization
