Freelance BOC Ops Specialist

Responsibilities

PLEASE NOTE: This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Role Purpose:

The BOC Ops Specialist manages the daily operation of the Stamford facility supplying the On-Air needs of our Productions and provides in-BOC Operations support for shows involving Multiple Complex Remote facilities usage.

Responsibilities:
• Strategic transmission planning for remote shows.
• Disseminates information among all other production teams, Tech team and other facilities
• Informed and up-to-date on sporting events and sports knowledge
• Schedule all ingest and connectivity using ScheduAll
• Operationally support BOC during shifts, includes management of BOC and all scheduled events
• Help troubleshoot signal with vendors and help transmission engineering setup and perform check ins.
• Ability to operate routers, waveform monitors, and vector scopes
• Act as the 'traffic cop'' for NBC Sports BOC, understand how are feeds coming in being processed and being sent out or recorded.
• Knowledge of industry standard production workflows.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• College degree in communications /television production or related field, and/or equivalent experience
• Minimum three (3) years' experience in TV production / operations

Additional skill requirements:
• Knowledge of transports systems, formats and signal flows.
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Superb communications skills and ability to work in live sports environment.

• Must be flexible for late or last minute scheduling changes

• Knowledge of ScheduALL scheduling system.
