Responsibilities
The Audience Retention Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that grow digital audiences in line with NBCU's business goals. The ideal candidate is analytical, has strong news judgement and is a self-starter. This role specifically focuses on cultivating engaged audiences on the NBCU Owned Television Stations Group (OTS) suite of loyalty products, particularly mobile apps and newsletters, and identifying ways to leverage them for meeting business needs. This is a senior role on the newly formed audience development team and is an opportunity to help shape the direction of NBCU OTS's digital strategy.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Working closely with Audience Development Editors, product, editorial and research to operationalize, evaluate and iterate on funnel tactics to drive digital users down the OTS product funnel
• Identify opportunities in the news cycle to drive greater audience to loyalty products and own/execute growth initiatives, working closely with stakeholders across the division
• Be an expert in shifts in industry and user trends to help the division prioritize which products and initiatives will best meet business needs and grow audience longterm
• Work closely with central research and marketing teams and key stakeholders in individual markets to help guide thinking around measuring longterm success of loyalty products
• Work closely with central and regional marketing and editorial teams to understand the value of loyal audiences
• Work cross-functionally with marketing and product teams to leverage loyal audiences when appropriate
• Own, execute and work with key stakeholders on digital growth strategies for loyalty products including App Store Optimization and email onboarding and reengagement strategies
• Use data to develop insights into our loyal audiences and share them with stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements
• 7+ years of professional experience working in an editorial, audience, social, product or SEO-focused role in a newsroom setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism preferred or related technical discipline
• Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate and influence team members across multiple markets in planning-related duties
• Excellent organization skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience building audiences
• Strong news judgement
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and deadlines
• Proficiency with social media platforms (i.e. Twitter, Facebook)
• Experience with one data platform (i.e. Adobe Analytics)
Familiarity with Google Trends, Socialflow and Slack
