Responsibilities
The Associate Emerging Platforms Editor will be responsible for identifying new and innovative ways to reach audiences across NBCUniversal's Regional Sports Networks. The ideal candidate loves sports, has strong editorial judgement and is a self-starter who follows through. If you like using data to learn what makes audiences tick, building relationships and being on the forefront of digital trends, this role could be for you. This role reports to NBCU Local's Audience Growth Manager. It is open to telecommute.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Leveraging knowledge of social media, digital industry trends and internal data to proactively identify best strategies for reaching audiences and driving traffic to grow audiences across NBCU's Regional Sports Networks.
• Learning new platforms as they gain popularity and audience and leading audience strategy.
• Acting as a main point of contact for emerging platforms and coordinating with Audience Growth Manager to ensure they fit in with overall growth strategy.
• Working cross-functionally with platforms, Audience Editors, RSN editorial teams, Product and Research teams to set up and maintain platform presences and evaluate efficacy of strategy.
• Report on key findings and platform opportunities to stakeholders including Audience Development team, RSN editorial teams and NBCU Local team at large.
• Identify internal and external brands and develop opportunities for cross-promotion across social media, newsletters and other properties, working with key internal stakeholders including legal teams, business development and editors as necessary.
• Creating, updating and presenting training materials and best practices for emerging and existing social platforms so editorial teams can stay on top of the latest audience development trends and remain up-to-date on understanding shifts in user behavior
• Maintaining a bank of partner and platform contacts that can be leveraged around timely and breakout stories and proactively using news judgements to seed stories to drive maximum engagement.
• Coordinating and executing campaigns to support NBCU's tentpole events and Symphony initiatives.
• Working closely with other members of the audience team to ensure top of funnel growth tactics sync with engagement and retention efforts.
• Assisting with Audience Development duties across social media, SEO, newsletters and other platforms as needed.
• Providing regular insights to editorial teams about audiences in their market.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism preferred or related technical discipline
• Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience working in an editorial, audience, social or SEO-focused role in a newsroom setting

Basic Qualifications
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions - NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols
